The whole team at The Curve Foundation are thrilled to be launching our counselling service at The Ramsey Academy! We’ve been working through the end of 2024 to put arrangements in place, and we will begin the service in the week commencing 6th January 2025. The key thing for us at The Curve Foundation is being able to support young people with their mental wellness needs as quickly and effectively as we can. We have two fantastic counsellors who will be working onsite at the school, one on Tuesdays and one on Thursdays. The pastoral team at The Ramsey Academy will work with the counsellors to ensure students can get the help they need. We provide a similar service at Moulsham High School in Chelmsford and the feedback we have received from the school and its students has been fantastic. So, we believe passionately that we can provide a great service for the students of The Ramsey Academy, too, and we’re excited to get that underway.
We’re so grateful for the donations, volunteers, and support from everybody involved. Without your help, we wouldn’t be able to expand our services.
Please head over to The Ramsey Academy website for more information on The Curve Foundations support at the school.

The guest speaker then moved on to the charity auction with some very generous lots including FA Cup Semi-Final Hospitality tickets! After an intense 4 hours of football competing against 7 exceptional opponents, Interspringfield FC overcame the odds to clinch victory at the Curve Ball Cup!
On Sunday 21st July 2024, businesses from Essex, close friends and Moulsham High School staff played football to raise money for The Curve Foundation raising over £4,165.
Organised by The Curve Foundation, The Curve Ball Cup is a charity football tournament which takes place every year at Moulsham High School in Chelmsford. The money raised allows The Curve Foundation to continue helping children who need mental health and well-being support. The event harnesses the power of football to help make sure that children continue to grow up happy, healthy and giving them the best start into adulthood.
Football boots polished, water bottles filled, and players warmed up, the whistle was blown at 10.30am and the tournament commenced! The group stages began, and all teams competitively played one another fighting for the top two places to enter the next round. Oz Mustafa from Laser Electrical Central said, “A thoroughly enjoyable day and it’s all for a great charity”. Entering the semifinals, the heat was on, all the remaining teams were eager to reach the final! As the final game kicked off, Chelmsford Deputy Mayor Counsellor Susan Sullivan arrived to watch the game in action. The final score was 0-0, which only meant one thing- PENALTIES! Although Vision Personal LTD fought hard to score, Interspringfield FC secured the win with the final penalty. Runners up Vision Personnel LTD’s coach George Bridle said “Surprisingly the quality of some of the players has shocked me! It’s great to see so many individuals giving up their weekend for such a worthy cause”
Not only did Interspringfield FC collect their Curve Ball Cup 2024 trophy from the Chelmsford Mayor but Dandara were also the winners of the day, raising a staggering £1,240 for The Curve Foundation prior to the tournament. Counsellor Susan Sullivan commented “I was impressed with the community involvement in the event, and it was a great pleasure watching the thrilling final match. Curve Foundation are doing a superb job supporting the mental health of young people”. A huge thank you to all of the teams who competed – Moulsham High School staff, UPR Scaffolding, Vision Personnel LTD, Dandara, 1st Drywall, MDS Civil Engineering LTD, Laser Electrical Central and Interspringfield FC. Thank you to all the volunteers and everyone who attended on the day. Without you all, The Curve Foundation would not be able to help the children in desperate need of mental health support.

In July, Yasmin and Jade attended the Moulsham High School careers fair where they had the opportunity to talk to students of all ages about careers working in mental health. They explored some of the different career paths within mental health and provided students with information to take away.
Jade who is part of the Curve Foundation team said “It was amazing to meet all the students at Moulsham High School and it was brilliant to see so many who recognise The Curve Foundation. I spoke with students who are being supported by the Charity, they can see the positive impact it is having on their life and now they’re considering a career which allows them to help others too.”
On 1 June 2024, our trustee Tim Rowe took on the 50km Three Castles ultra marathon from Rochester to Tonbridge. The aim (other than survive): to raise as much money as possible for The Curve Foundation.
A huge congratulations to Tim for not only completing the marathon but also raising £1,389! Thank you and well done Tim!
It is coming up to that time of the year again, when we ask you to join us, for our exciting Miles over Mind fundraising campaign.
May is both Teenage ‘Self Esteem’ Awareness and National Walking month. It is the perfect time to join the challenge and raise vital funds to help support children and young people with their mental health. Did you know of the young people in the UK, 79% say how they look is very important to them and 52% worry about the way they look. (Statistics from Beat, eating disorder charity.)
This May we are asking you and other members of the Curve Foundation community, to join us in walking, running, cycling, swimming or even scooting to complete our 50 or 100 mile challenge.
How to get involved
This sponsorship activity can be done on your own or with a group of friends and family. You can split the distance, rope in your children and grandchildren or even bring the dog! It is completely up to you how far, when and how you wish to undertake your challenge.
All we ask is that you set up a fundraising page using this link, link your page to the Miles Over Mind 2022 campaign and get your friends, family and colleagues to sponsor you via your page.
Sponsor someone else doing the challenge
We know that not everyone will be able to complete the challenge but that doesn’t mean you can’t support others who are. You can always donate to the campaign here, if you would prefer to support someone else while they undertake the challenge. Every donation we receive enables us to have even more of a positive impact on young lives and for this we are truly grateful.
Tell your story
Share, tweet, like and use #milesovermind to help raise awareness of the challenge for others to see. With your help, the money raised will enable the continuation of our Essex school counselling service, which supports young people to manage their mental health such as anxiety and depression.
